Funky pattern, check. Camp collar, check. Maybe the kind of thing your Dad would wear whilst manning the BBQ? Check. If you're in the market for a summertime shirt, then look no further than our comprehensive - kinda - guide.
We are firm believers that everyone should own a shirt; whether it's a funky short-sleeve number or a smarter alternative that can be dressed up. This Summer we've got some cracking shirts at our disposal, so we've selected some of our favourites from a range of price options and brands.
Let's get things started with this Short Sleeve Work Shirt from Dickies. They're renowned for their workwear staples - jackets, trousers and shirts - and the quality that comes with that is second-to-none. This particular work shirt is made of the same durable material we see on their signature work pants - a twill blend made up of 65% polyester and 35% cotton. With two button-closure pockets on the chest and a woven Dickies tag, this is a lightweight and durable option for your Summer shirt. This lovely, soft blue shade is cracking, too.
This is for the braver folk of you who don't mind bearing profanity across your top half. Fucking Awesome's 'Bird Bag' shirt features an all-over printed graphic of, what looks to be, a penguin carrying a bag; if you've seen Dumbo, then you get the idea. It also features the classic FA typography throughout. Made of 100% woven rayon, this shirt is a lighter alternative to the others on the list, but at the higher end of the price range at £100. We're huge fans of the camp collar, so you should be too.
This Fucking Awesome - that's the brand name, but also a suitable adjective - shirt is available now for £100 - shop it here.
Get your Alan Titchmarsh on with this flowery shirt. If you don't know who Alan is, then look him up - he's like the Ainsley Harriott of the gardening world. Obey have released this short-sleeve number that's perfect for this time of year. It's constructed using 100% viscose which makes it lightweight and gives it a relaxed fit. It has a really nice all-over lily print with a single chest pocket that sports a woven Obey logo.
This cracking piece from Obey is available now for a reasonable price of £65.
Feelin' peachy? To top it all off is this beauty from Huf. This 'Peachy' shirt from Huf features an all-over vintage-inspired graphic which sees a naked lady sat atop a peach. Not too sure what the meaning behind that is, but I'll let you do the guessing. It also features a camp collar, similar to the FA and Obey shirt, so you can show off a little chest hair; if you're lucky enough to have some. Little details round off this piece, such as custom Huf buttons and a rounded chest pocket.
Huf's 'Peachy' shirt is available now on our site for £70 - shop it here.
